Kawayan Folk Arts Presents Tuklas: Discover

Kawayan Folk Arts to showcase its music and dance talent in upcoming Fundraising show.

San Jose, CA | June 19, 2008 –
On Saturday, August 23, 2008, Kawayan Folk Arts will host a showcase entitled : Tuklas - “Discover.” The showcase will be held in Tateuchi Hall at the Community School of Music and Arts (CSMA) at Finn Center (230 San Antonio Circle, Mountain View, CA 94040). There will be two shows, 2PM and 7PM, and tickets for each performance are $20 dollars. To purchase tickets, please contact Kawayan Folk Arts at tickets@kawayanfolkarts.org.

Kawayan Folks Arts will showcase ethnic music and dance from the Philippine Islands and feature local talent from the Bay Area. “We celebrate the exhilarating performing arts of the Philippines in a narrative style in Tuklas and exhibit the artistic and personal relevance for our artists and the unique cultures of the Philippines.” Executive Director RJ Payomo shares about the upcoming showcase.

Since 2005, Kawayan Folk Arts has performed at various special events throughout California. With dance and music performances and educational workshops, Kawayan Folk Arts has impressed audiences in the Bay Area with stunning choreography, beautiful musical arrangement, and artistic skill.
